Hanging bunting without damaging paintwork?

We have just painted my daughtwr's bedroom and would like to put her bunting back up. I used blu tack before but I know that is a bad idea as it could leave oil marks on the new paint. Any ideas for something that won't damage the decor please?

We used tiny little 'tack' nails. The nail hole is minuscule.

We also used tiny picture-hanging nails.

I would use very small screw-in hooks in the doorframes and windowframes. Drill a very small pilot hole first to avoid splitting. You can order very small ones off ebay, or they are used for net curtains.

If you hadn't already redecorated, I would have said drill the wall at about picture-rail height, and insert plasplugs, then fill and decorate except that you leave the tiny screw-hole unfilled, but painted. It will be very unnoticable, but if you want to screw hooks in later, to hang pictures or bunting, they will go in without damaging the plaster. As it is a small neat hole it is easy to fill and paint if one day you decide you don't need it.

Thanks, sounds like nails are the way to go then.

PigletJohn we are about to decorate the nursery next so I will have a good think about your suggestion and do some of those in certain places.

Thanks all for the advice!
