I really need a kick up the arse to get on top of things at home. I'm hoping to be able to get to a point where I can keep on top of things mainly in the week to free up time at the weekends to do more fun stuff with the kids.

I'm not a naturally tidy or organised person and wondered if anyone has gone from having a home like a bombsite to successfully keeping on top of things and managed to maintain it? Has it had a positive impact on your everyday life?

TIA

Ive been getting antsy recently cos all my drawers and shelves are crammed. I started tackling them one at a time and a real weight has been lifted from my mind.

My main problem is clothes - Ive had 2 pregnancies recently. So pregnancy clothes, bf clothes, going back to work a but heavier clothes...as well as all my lovely pre pregnancy clothes Im hanging onto in case I lose weight...im very slowly tackling them as they annoy me!

Made a small amount of progress so far this week. Started tackling the clothes mountain upstairs and put lots of things away, found quite a few things I'd completely forgotten about!

Today I cleared out two big kitchen cupboards and threw away loads of old post and packaging.

Small steps in the right direction Smile

Well done MrsA! Every journey is made of several small steps so these are great achievements.

I managed to fill a bin bag of random crap on Monday, and another yesterday. Won't manage one today as health condition flaring up and got work while DCs at school (aaaargh)

Well done for starting. You are motivating me to get back into it. I just have no energy at the moment. I need to push myself though, I know I will fell a hundred times better when my house looks better.

My problem is that I can't concentrate and get bored easily. I've had some success this year by "power tasking" and trying to do 15-20 minutes of something I'm not keen on early in the morning after I've walked dog.
It has worked with the garden which is weedfree, and really tidy now.

This month I've transferred it to indoors and done a drawer or got up to date with laundry in this time. I feel so much better and more efficient as a result.
