I think you're meant to deal with them before washing as the water "sets" the stain in some way.

lakeland have a solution for stains, its a natural product i've used and its not bad, couple of go's.
will try and find

Do you use nonbio? If not try bio poweder instead as it has enzymes which are supposed to eat grease. If you're already using it and it doesn't work, how about some lemon juice? Doesn't that cut through grease?

You could try putting a scoop of oxiclean in with each wash. Probably better to treat individually though.

ACE in the blue bottle, gets rid of all stains, especially grease ones, i use it on my kitchen towels and they're always stain free.

sprinkle talc on grease stains and leave for a day or two.wash as normal.

afraid 'examine and squirt' is the only way I've found - in fact 'examine and rub' as I use Vanish stick

I used a stain devil for oil on a blob that really wouldn't shift on one of my tops. Had to use it a few times but it went in the end.

Have you tried ironing on a high temp with kitchen roll between iron and clothing to 'soak up' the stain? Also works for wax. And you can use brown paper instead of kitchen roll.
