Designers Guild do really bold colours.

Bedeck?

minkah · 06/08/2014 10:03

Zara home, I think.

EugeneKrabs · 06/08/2014 10:16

Debenhams do plain dye lime bedding, so you can at least get your sheets and bottom pillowcases to go with whichever duvet set you find.

elephanteraser · 06/08/2014 10:18

i got my son a nice chartreuse duvet cover in the jl sale. goes with his turquoise pillow cases. nice lime or electric though Grin

KatyMac · 06/08/2014 11:17

I'm making my duvet covers - so I need pillow cases, fitted sheets & a flat sheet for the bottom of the quilt cover

She has picked a fabulous green & blue African print so I need 2 fitted in each colour, 2 pillow cases & 2 double flat sheets - so I can make some cushions to match

There is a spare mattress up the long side of the bed to make it sofa like

Debenhams & Bedeck are out of stock, JL, Designers guild & Zara don't have the right colours

But thanks for the suggestions

They came back into stock at Debenhams - glad I checked again

I got mine half lime green and half electric blue from Asda about 6 months ago.

Icelollycraving · 08/08/2014 07:14

The designers guild white set with a turquoise trim is an absolute bugger to iron. Never looks smooth & smart.

KatyMac · 08/08/2014 18:45

I ordered them & they are the wrong colour!

Damn

Ah now Electric blue is now colbalt & lime green is a very wishywashy yeloowy green - apparently I need grass green

So now the thread needs to be entitled "Grass green & cobalt blue"

so any more suggestions?

Charity shops? Those colours were all the rage in 1998 (I had a bedroom in those colours, with a splash of sunshine yellow!)

KatyMac · 10/08/2014 16:57

Maybe, yes, but I need quite a lot - so I may not get enough

But it's a good idea

Buy white and dye them?

Icelollycraving · 10/08/2014 17:02

That's a good idea. Then you can have lots in same shade.

KatyMac · 10/08/2014 17:04

That is genius!!!

I'd have to buy cotton or a synthetic dye (I think they are specialist)

Oh - someone on here knows all about dying.....I'm sure they do - I'll look later & see who it was

Genius!!

iDye do both a poly and natural fibres dye, in the same c

VeryLittleGravitasIndeed · 10/08/2014 19:24

Oops.

In the same colour range. I've dyed with both together in the washing machine with ok results. But you could just get 100% cotton sheets too, you can get them cheaply eg.

KatyMac · 10/08/2014 19:33

They say if you out the normal dye & the poly dye together you can dye polycotton

Wow! things have come on since I last dyed

OP posts:
VeryLittleGravitasIndeed · 10/08/2014 19:52

Yes you can. Different techniques (poly wants to be boiled) but with a boil wash in the machine I've had ok results on poly cotton.

KatyMac · 22/08/2014 22:10

I found some !

Thanks everyone
