how much soaking/scrubbing do you think this will need? (pics)

Limescale on outer parts of shower tray. I think someone here may have conquered it before - what substance worked for you and how long did you soak it for, and how many minutes/hours of hard scrubbing did it need afterwards (approx)?

I have been delaying even (thinking about) starting this task for weeks admittedly (date on photo gives this away!)

I would inclined to get some formic acid in for this job. It's in Cillit Bang Grime and Lime (along with sulphamic acid). Alternatively Hagesan Blue contains phosphoric acid, but I find it less effective.

I've used HG limescale remover to pretty good effect. The tricky thing is to keep it on the limescale and keep it from drying out. My solution was to soak kitchen towels in it, stick them over it (two or three thick), then cover them up with an opened-out bin bag to prevent evaporation. Left it for a few hours, and most of it just wiped off.
