Green wheelie bin error - what to do now?

The kids sand pit keeps turning green so I decided to clear out the sand and give it all a good clean.

For some unknown reason I thought it would be a good idea to put the sand in the green wheelie bin.

There wasn't that much but it is now extremely heavy and I realise I have been an idiot!

I don't think I can get away with it as its so heavy. I can either wait in denial till next week for them to reject it, or try to sort it out now.

One major downside is that the bin was already half full of old food, lawn mownings, etc. Grim.

Any advice on what I can do with this rubbish? Vague plan at the moment is to buy some super strength bin bags and a face mask and shovel it out then drive it to the local dump.

Are there any companies who would come and take it away?

tip it out, then shovel the true green waste back in.

If you shovel the sand into buckets you can take it to the tip. If you must use plastic bags, get some heavyweight rubble bags from the DIY shed. They might be blue. They will only be pillowcase size because of the weight.

If you are on heavy clay soil you can sprinkle sand on the lawn and brush it in, it will improve the surface.

Thanks pigletjohn, I found a waste removal company willing to take it for £60 so decided to go down that route. DD has a vomiting bug so have neither the time, energy nor willpower to sort it out myself tonight :-(

if you have heavy clay soil you can dig it into your soil to improve drainage.
