How do you get the grease completely off?

Medulla · 13/09/2006 08:03

OVEN PRIDE!! The stuff is brilliant.

You can buy it in Robert Dyas and Sainsburys (not sure where else).

You get a large plastic bag in the kit which will hold about three maybe four wire racks, splodge in some of the gel, seal the bag and leave overnight. You do have keep turning it over for the first few hours to make sure all the racks get coated then in the morning the grease just wipes off!!!

You can use the rest of the gel for the bottom of your oven, again smear it on and leave overnight. This stuff is bloody fantastic!!!!!!!

Stinks a bit but defo worth it!

I am having my oven cleaned professionally this week and they do these. So excited. Bit pricey though so only once a year.

sorkycake · 14/09/2006 19:43

How much is it costing you tamsino?

southeastastra · 14/09/2006 19:45

everyone is oven cleaning obsessed tonight! wire wool, get scrubbing!

sorkycake · 14/09/2006 19:46

Is wire wool ok on enamel interiors?

southeastastra · 14/09/2006 20:00

i don't know but if it's really caked on try it

tamsino · 15/09/2006 10:31

Sorky, It has cost me £76 for :
2 ovens and all the shelves inside them
gas hob and all the bits
extractor fan
stainless steel splashback

It is like having a brand new oven from scratch. A bit pricey but if you do it once a year it doesnt seem like much per month, and I dont buy any oven cleaning stuff ever as i just wipe it down every now and again so save a bit there.

Lakeland Limited do a fantastic oven cleaner. Paint it on, leave for a bit then the magic happens!
