Does my integrated fridge have a drain?

Last week I noticed the back had iced up so I turned it down. The ice has now gone. But where? Is there a drain I should be emptying? The fridge is probably 20 years old?!? It was here when we moved in 3.5 yrs ago.

any fridge made in (about) the last 30 years will self-defrost, as will frost-free freezers until they get choked. The way it works is that there is a gutter in the back wall, which catches the water from melted frost. There is a small pipe that takes it to an evaporation dish, which is on top of the compressor/motor. This runs somewhat warm, which encourages the water to evaporate.

The dish gets really dirty and mouldy, so it is a good idea occasionally to UNPLUG the appliance and pull it away from the wall, hoover the dust and fluff off the coils/grid on the back, and sponge out the dish, taking care not to spill water on any electrical part.

Sadly this is one of the jobs that is much more difficult on an integrated appliance.

Hmmmm. Well if it's been OK for the last 20 years it can probably wait another few months until we get a new kitchen then.

Thanks for the reply!
