What should I use to clean a changing table?

DS2 will be arriving in about four weeks and I've discovered the changing table we used for DS1 is a bit grimy - it's one of these albeit a slightly different pattern on the coverings.

I was thinking about putting the solid plastic trays and shelves through the dishwasher then use kitchen spray on the rest of it, but our cleaner, an ex-midwife, thinks it could leave residue which might irritate a newborn's skin.

What do you reckon? What should I use?

(PS Don't worry - I will be changing on the floor once he's bigger and more mobile, but I'll most likely be having a c-section so the raised surface will be essential in the first few weeks, as it was with DS1.)

hot soapy water. then rinse with clear water.

Milton spray and a good rub.

I'd go with the milton too.

I have Milton solution. Can I just dilute that to clean with rather than buying the spray?

Yes just dilute the milton as per instructions. I'd probably use hot soapy water first though to get the actual dirt off, as soap will be better at shifting it. Then I'd maybe wipe with milton.

What kind of soap? Dish washing liquid?
