I was like this, you get faster! As usual I ignored the manual which came with mine - but when I looked at it, it had a good picture showing how to do it - have you got one?

charliecat · 08/09/2006 21:15

is the bottom rack all the way in? I know it sounds silly but it's worth checking - when it's all the way in it sort of drops down a bit

ahh..dont know, dp loaded it after I got fed up and its running, will let your know how dirty things come out and see if it drops in...Thank you

hopefully they've all come out sparkling.. if not. could be that some large plates don't fit... either you have to raise the upper basket or you simply cannot fit a certain size plate in. I have one of those .. my "best plates" don't fit.. I can fit two ( one on either side) where the spinning arm does'nt touch and the rest I wash by hand!!

charliecat · 08/09/2006 22:28

I can live with eating from two tiny plates if it means I dont have to wash them

I do sometimes wonder whether the DW actually saves time, by the time I've loaded it with allthe dishes in sink, even though the kids and DH are supposed to put their dishes straighty into it. Plus the getting it emptied so I can put the next lot in... god it's abit like using the internet to book flights or buy books... is it really any faster than it used to be?

charliecat · 08/09/2006 22:38

shhhhhhhhhh dont say that, ive dreamt of one for YEARS

don't worry cc, when it's full and running, and you've wiped down the counters, and it's humming away in the background... that is a moment to savour... one of the few when you feel... kind of... on top of it all... in control...I'm sure you know what I mean. - enjoy it while you can!!!

charliecat · 08/09/2006 22:50

I am going to buy smaller plates...but i LOVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE it. How did I ever live without one?

I was going suggest smaller plates but thought that would come over as being silly!
I think our DW takes about 1hr15 to do a load (not sure because ours comes on at night)
They do make an improvement to life. My DH went on at me for years about getting one and I always said no. I relented 5 years ago and wish we'd got one sooner!
