Do I need to use Amtico products?

Just had Amtico laid in our bathroom and the layer told me I needed to buy their own product to wash and protect it. Was he just trying to sell me something I don't need?

No, any floor cleaner will do, although the Amtico product does smell lovely. We were given a couple of bottles when we had all of downstairs done four years ago. When it was all gone we used Flash or Cif, floors still look great.

My parents have used flash/supermarket own brand equivalent for years on theirs and it looks the same as when it was fitted over 10 years ago.

No, I've had Amtico now for about 15 years in total (love it - getting more soon!). I agree, it is fine with any floor cleaner. The Amtico one is nice but not worth the hassle of getting it. I generally use an ecloth mop and water only.

I'd question how good the quality really is if the floor can only cope with being cleaned using one specific cleaner ! Of course any multipurpose cleaner will be fine.
