Hi guys

Just wondering what your experiences of cordless/handheld vacuums as I'm getting tired of dragging out the normal vacuum every 10 mins!

Please don't say the Duson as it's way out if budget. Tia.

Sorry, I have the dyson and it's amazing. The one without the long pole is about £100 cheaper though.

Should have proof read first!

Thanks - cries if no one else can come up with an alternative.

Bumping because I'm interested too.

Vax gator, I bought mine off Amazon for £35. The battery lasts a long time, it is not as bulky as a Dyson and is reasonably priced. I use mine to pick up crumbs on kitchen floor and mess created by our guinea pigs (they kept indoors).

Co can highly recommend it.

CarCiKoTab · 05/06/2014 21:24

Gtech Air Ram Not like I've tried it just wanted to give an alternative.

SweepTheHalls · 05/06/2014 21:26

Sorry, but I do love my Dyson, it was worth saving up for 4 months Grin

MyFirstName · 05/06/2014 21:58

www.johnlewis.com/aeg-ag5012uk-ultrapower-vacuum-cleaner-blue/p231903599 I have this and I love it. Has real oomph, easy to clean/empty and lasts for ages.

3catsandcounting · 07/06/2014 15:18

I second the Vax Gator - bought it a few weeks ago from Amazon, £29. It's brilliant; good suction and battery life, it's small, light and easy to empty (only downside is the dog's terrified of it!)

RachelHRD · 07/06/2014 19:13

I've just ordered this as its powerful, compact and has good reviews. You also get an extra 7.35% cash back via Topcashback.

Will let you know how it performs!

firstchoice · 07/06/2014 19:19

Oooh, I am interested too.
I have a mobility prob which leaves me tired and I find vacuuming heavy and tiring.

I DREAM of a handheld wand/stick thingy, esp for stairs and coving.

I too am on a very tight budget and the Dyson seems mega £££ and also a battery life of something crazy like 15mins?
I currently have a (3rd hand!) Dyson and it is superheavy.

ImogenQuy · 07/06/2014 21:39

I third Vax Gator. We have two, one upstairs and one down.

chocomochi · 07/06/2014 22:07

Oooh, like the look of the Black and Decker. Will need to compare it to the Vax Gator as am liking the price of that more!

I love my Dyson too Blush.

I waited and saved, and it has been worth it. Long pole and all.

Justgotosleepnow · 07/06/2014 22:16

We have a Hoover Jovis (orangey red one) wet and dry. It's really powerful & fantastic! Got it with nectar points. Highly recommend it.

tshirtsuntan · 08/06/2014 22:16

Another vote for vax gator, half price from sainsburys, about 17 quid and bloody marvellous!

icanmakeyouicecream · 12/06/2014 13:28

Vax one - it's brilliant

InsertUsernameHere · 12/06/2014 20:04

I bought a dirt devil (corded) it was dreadful and I took it back. It was painfully noisy and overheated before I done about 4 stairs.

RachelHRD · 12/06/2014 21:35

Well the Black & Decker is performing well so far. Neat, compact and very powerful and easy to clean out. Sits neatly on its charger on the workshop and I did stairs, car and a few bits surround the then before it needed charging again.

Impressed so far!

LilacBreastedRoller · 14/06/2014 20:39

I also have the Black and Decker one and am very pleased with it.

EmperorTomatoKetchup · 15/06/2014 15:50

We've got this Black and Decker one www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Decker-DV7210N-Cyclonic-Dustbuster/dp/B004RCNRXE

The nozzle is great for nooks and crannies, I don't know how I lived without it! Well actually I do, we lived in even more squalor than we do now..
