This thread inspired me yesterday to SORT OUT THE CRAP in this house. Today I am wandering around thinking how less stressful it feels to be in a tidy house!

Yesterday's highlight was watching DS scampering round in a panic picking up toys when I yelled from the hall "I'm coming in there with the hoover and anything on the floor goes up the hoover pipe". He was like a maniac!!

DH was a great help, lifting his legs up helpfully so I could hoover under them! Poor soul, been poorly sick all weekend so I let him off but I did make him hold his legs up for longer than necessary, just for a laugh!!

The only reason it looks ok here is we got back from holidays late last night and they haven't had time to trash the place yet! (I am, however, surrounded by unpacked bags, piles of clothes to be washed, etc.) Dh was not with us for the first week and shock, horror, actually did some tidying and hoovering before he went away!

Gobbledigook, my carpets are revolting too - will try cleaning them once the youngest goes to playgroup (not starting till next week) but am very tempted to take them up and have the floorboards sanded...

One of the reasons I don't have as much crap as usual is that in last few weeks, I have chucked loads into the tip - was quite rutheless, even chucking all the crap (sorry, special work I did at school and now have to dump somewhere at home) the kids brought back at end of last term. Think I kept one token piece per child which I will also chuck but when they've forgotten about it

I think my house needs someone to get off thier arse. Another mumsnetter swept some crisps and dust into a corner on Saturday afternoon, its now Monday Morning and im adding to the crispy crusty pile.
