How do you get paint off textured glass?

Obviously it's going to take some elbow grease but has anyone done it before? Our new house has some internal glazed doors and some idiot from long ago has painted the textured sides (think the reception rooms must have been rented out as bedrooms once.)

have you considered replacing the glass?

TBH I think replacing the galss is the better option here.
Having said that if you really do have ages to scrub at the glass with a brush and white spirit/nitromoors and make loads of mess AND have to repaint the doors afterwards then strength to your elbow.

was hoping someone was going to say white vinegar would do it in seconds.

If it is old, and dry you could try a razorblade, although may be a problem with textured glass.

dh used to be a painter & decorator. He suggests trying using a green scouring pad to scrub with a solution of sugar soap in very hot water. Failing that, you could scrape with a stanley blade. Only sure way though is to use paint stripper - that really would do it in seconds, but a bit messy!!!
GOOD LUCK.
