The cast iron things on the top of range cookers

What are they called, and can I put them in the dishwasher? TIA .

I don't know if that means you're supposed to, but mine still look fine, and have done it a few time after 11 yo DS over enthusiastic pan stirring!

I do them on Intensive super-hot, not delicate!

I'll probably do them on intensive next time - they survived!

We run ours through the dw all the time. 10 years on they seem OK
