We are about to re-do our bathroom from scratch. It's only a small room (approx 1.8m x 2m). I'm very lazy and hate housework, so please can you give me your best idea's to make it as easy to clean as possible.
We were thinking a wall hung toilet might make floor cleaning easy, is this true? Are matt or shiny tiles better, or should we try a shower panel? Please give me any idea's you can.

Panels make bathrooms look like hospitals and campsites. Also they don't wear well, the joins always end up looking crap. Back to the wall loo, with all the horrid bits firmly encased and out of sight.

In a similar small bathroom we had a built in wall of narrow units, with an inset sink and boxed in cistern. Gives lovely clean line with a little bit of Worksurface area, but not too much. The cupboards give me somewhere to put everything away, including all the kids bath toys. I don't let anything stay out on surface for long, have literally one houseplant, one decorative vase (with deodoriser spray hidden behind) and loo roll out.
Absolutely get Matt tiles, keeping shiny ones smear free is a full time job in itself.
Echo the dark grout especially if floor is tiled.
My bathroom is the easiest room to clean, takes 10 minutes max to be sparkling!

Our toilet is shaped like this at the back. It's easy to hoover next to it, there's room by the wall. It is much easier than ones I've had before with nooks and crannies.

Our straight shower screen can be squeegied easier than a curved one.
