Come talk to me about the exciting world of rotary driers

I need a new one.
My old one has finally died - largely because it has been out in all weathers as I'm not strong enough to operate the umbrella-style thingy that folds it up. My hands don't have enough strength to squeeze the button while lifting.

What do you recommend for me? I'd like 4 arms and about 50m of line. And DH has just fainted at the price of the ones on the John Lewis website which seem to all be over £100.

Brabantia do one that you operate with a kind of foot pedal. My neighbour has one and thinks it's great.

Or what about one on a crank, so you turn the handle to raise/lower it?

I have a very old Brabantia rotary drier that used to belong to MIL and it's still going strong 20 odd years later.

If you get a cover for it, it should last for longer maybe.

Have you seen rotaire dryline? Sorry can't link but keeps it dry and apparently the design helps it dry quicker

Thank you for replying.

I have a weather cover - just couldn't fold the dryer because I couldn't grip the button hard enough, so I couldn't put on the cover.
The dryline is a great idea, but a bit ugly. If the line I fix it to is permanently up (because I can't close it), it would really dominate our tiny garden.

Having looked at youtube videos, I think I would really like the Leifheit Linomatic or the Brabantia Liftomatic. But suspect my budget is about a third of that Sad. I could get a Brabantia Topspinner for £65, but I've just watched a demo on youtube and the professional salesman struggled to close it - which doesn't bode well.

Argos have one called "Living" - which I think is Argos own-brand, no idea who actually does the manufacture. It''s not a bad price (£35) but I have no idea if I'll be able to operate it.

I hate dithering about - but know I'll be lumbered with whatever I choose for years.

Homebase do a hand cranking airer - here with another 15% off this weekend apparently.

Just replaced our last week as our old John Lewis one finally fell apart (after 15 yrs service so can't complain). We bought a Brabantia one from B&Q, think it was £79 and it's just as good as the more expensive JL one.

Thank you everyone - especially for the Homebase discount. I've ordered one for collection from Homebase for collection tomorrow - fingers crossed.
