Useful tip for getting rid of cooking smells

So you might all know this already but I didn't! Vinegar gets rid of cooking smells.

I cooked a curry for tea last night , then on the walk home from Rainbows DD2 found a very tarnished pound coin. I left it in a cup of vinegar on the kitchen side overnight to clean it & forgot to cover it with clingfilm. Came down this morning to find the kitchen smelled much less than it normally does after a curry.

What other magic uses does vinegar have?

I bought a book on the subject, but not yet got round to reading it - I think you might like it.

It also gets rid of the smell of smoke.

It's good isn't it? Lighting a candle and opening windows works too.

Rubbing your hands on a stainless steel tap removes cooking odours from them.

White vinegar very good for a washing machine maintenance wash. Good for putting in a jug and then dunking the shower head into to get rid of limescale. Good for de scaling the kettle.

extractor hood (must be turned on) or failing that, an extractor fan.
