Help me Mumsnetters, you're my only hope..... The whole house (and every occupant) is covered in dog hair - white, wavy dog hair - and it's doing my head in! Bloody stuff floats everywhere & sticks to everything - how do you keep it under control?

Its not on that page antimatter it is a small cylinder one as I have shoulder problems and cannot manage a large hoover. Unfortunately all the new models are either much larger or much smaller than my old one. I went for smaller.

We've tried everything and the Shark seems the best of the bunch but it still gets loads of hairs caught round the brushes which I hate cleaning out. Used to use scissors but have now just got a RollaReleasa which is a godsend in getting them out!

I have a shark which is much better than dyson. We have two dogs two horses. And chickens. Hair feathers dust everywhere.

Loving the comment near the beginning of the thread about how things you haven't yet bought will be covered in hair already! Grin

Same problem here with a Dalmatian that sheds literally 24/7, 365 days a year. It gets fucking EVERYWHERE. My mum and dad find it in their house where the dog has never been. Can only assume they take some home with them from when they visit us here. Daughter finds it regularly in her lunch at work. It even managed to make it's way into a new bag I bought... took straight upstairs when I got it home (dog not allowed upstairs) in the carrier bag. Opened it up a few days later to use for the first time and there were 2 little white hairs INSIDE. They're like needles to make it worse; they don't just sit ON things, they stick IN them. It's a good job we love him so much!

Be VERY careful with Furminators, they are very spiteful, try it on yourself... My friend sat gently brushing my Chihuahua with one and two days later the poor things had the most terrible grazes all down his back. I was there and she was only combing gently. I wouldn't use any comb on an animal that I wouldn't use on myself.
Ok so you will always have hairs, it's part of life.
Regular baths and brushing is number one, go outside to do it, you can put a pair of Marigolds on and have a good massage and stroking session, dog will love it.
A good deep clean of everywhere to start with, use a shower squeegie on carpets, and upholstery. I buy extra extra wide cheap clear tape and use that on clothing just before going out and on sofas and across bed sheets, you'll be amazed at the fluff and dust you get too.
Put cheap throws down, the microfibre ones are cheap and can be washed over and over, tumble drying does remove a lot of hair from everything.
Don't wear black! Good luck
