Washing machine won't drain

It's an indesit iwd61450, out of warranty and flashing up with an f05 error code.

I can't afford a new machine. Ive tried running a hot wash on empty, that hasn't helped. There's nothing in the rubber bit round the front circle thing ( technical) and I have no idea what to do.

How much roughly would a repair man cost? We are a family of 5 and I need the bloody thing to work!

Is the drain blocked after the washing machine?
Im assuming the circle bit is the lint filter?
Have you googled the error code?

TheNightIsDark · 07/04/2014 01:25

Yes and it's said to remove the kick board and clear out the filter. I have a horrible feeling our filter is underneath so have asked a friend to come over tomorrow to help me tip it and see.

Sodding stuff. This week I've broken my car and washing machine. You can tell its school holidays and I actually need both!

have you got the instruction book? see troubleshooting page 13

have you cleaned the filter?

PigletJohn · 07/04/2014 01:28

the filter is not underneath, it is at the front, bottom, right, behind the kickplate, see page 12.

TheNightIsDark · 07/04/2014 01:31

Thanks PJ. Cannot locate the manual Blush

I shall attempt removing the kick plate in the morning. If you hear screams coming from the Northamptonshire area then it's possible I dropped the machine on my foot Grin

it says you need a screwdriver to take the kickplate off. There is a clickable link to the manual in my earlier post.

mercibucket · 07/04/2014 01:37

ukwhitegoods.co.uk has a good page on this

have you tried a rinse and spin cycle? might be a blockage in the drain hose rather than the filter

TheNightIsDark · 07/04/2014 01:48

Yup tried rinse and spin.

Thanks for the link. It's a flat head I need to get it off isn't it? Will raid the garage in the morning and get the towels ready.

don't know what sort of screw. I would have thought more likely a pozi.

it can be page 6 or page 12 (there appear to be two editions)

SolidGoldBrass · 07/04/2014 01:56

Mione does this sometimes. If you've had the filter out and degunked and that hasn't worked, it's possiby the hose. Check the hose and whether it's somewhere something can push against it, squash it or twist it.

redcaryellowcar · 07/04/2014 01:59

we had this problem and it turned of that a text2 and 50p coinhad got stuck in the drainage hose! we have lovely local repairman who charges around 50 a callout plus parts if needed. i was 6 months pregnant at the time so not in a position to be hoicking washing machines in and out etc, i was very grateful not to be buying new machine.

Omg this worked I'm a mum of 2 and can't afford to get the machine fixed ...thanks so much there was a bit of metal and a 20 pence stuck in it ....can't believe I fixed my washing machine i feel like super mum .lol

WindyBee · 25/04/2018 17:10

Did you manage to fix it? My pump went 2 weeks ago on my Beko. New pump for £30 and dad to fix it!
