Double recycling bin with different size bins that's not £130??

We have 2 big green boxes for plastic and cardboard (lots), and glass and paper (not so much). The idea is they live in the garage, and when I have some recycling I go out there and put it in the appropriate box. What actually happens is I have a huge pile of recycling on the side in the kitchen, or more often both minting huge boxes stacked on top of each other making an eyesore in the corner of my kitchen.

I'd quite like a stainless steel biggish double recycling bin, with a larger compartment for plastic and card and a smaller one I can use for paper, like this but much cheaper but can't find one??

What does everyone else do?? Don't have any spare space to put one under the counter, and we have a 30l Brabantia round steel bin for normal rubbish too...

Thanks Smile. It would need to be the bigger one as we just don't have enough paper etc to fill the second compartment and that'd annoy me! They're just so expensive though it's only a flippin binSad.

The other option is another brabantia one like this but that's even more expensive, or maybe 3 standard ones next to each other (a 30l for rubbish, a 30l for plastic and a smaller one for paper), but that seems ridiculous...

We picked up one on gumtree for £30. You might get lucky looking on there.

I've got the bin in the op. it was ridiculously expensive, but it's a fabulous bin! Really well made, and much neater than the two "normal" bins I had previously.
If you can afford it, I would say it's probably worth the money.

I've been thinking along these lines too. We have fortnightly plastic/metal/glass recycling, and weekly paper recycling. So we fill a black crate of paper/card every week, and by the time the fortnight is up, we have two full crates of glass/plastic/cans. At the moment, it is kept in our pantry, but I am considering redoing our kitchen and trying to work out how to accommodate the recycling.

Have you got one of those contraptions that crushes down plastics and cans? That might free up some space in the recycling receptacle for you.

I have one of these hung on these. It's hung on the side of the unit next to the back door, and just gets grabbed on the way out, emptied into the recycling bin, and rehung. Would be easy to hang two side by side for sorting different things.

Mango that's interesting (and really cheap!) Don't have anything I could suction it to but at least it's smaller and could be a bit out of the way...

If I had floor space I would probably have gone for the stacking bins with lids but our kitchen is roughly shoebox sized, with doors in 2 walls, so anything I can do to reclaim a bit of space is a bonus.

We've got two 50l brabatia bins. One for recycling and one for general. Compostable waste goes in a brown bag and binned at the end of the day. But we do have full sized wheelies here which get collected on a fortnight rotation. Ie general waste one week, recycling and Compostable the next.

I use this one for glass, it is screwed into the door under the sink.
