Line drying in a car port?

Im moving to a house with a carport. Are they any good for line drying clothes? Its pretty sealed up with roller shutter doors so not much breeze. Is it even worth a try or do the clothes stay damp and musty?

Not exactly the same but I have a drying area between a shed and garage (just covered over with ridged plastic stuff - can't remember the name ) and things dry fine. It's only a small area and close to the fence so not much breeze gets through but it's great to be able to leave some washing out and not worry about the weather.

Yes i much prefer line drying but i wondered whether a breeze would be crucial. I could open a shutter but then its not secure for my 2yr old.

won't work if it is sealed up as you describe.

open car ports with a breeze through are great for drying, obviously no worrying about what happens if it rains.

open the shutter and fit a gate?

It has a side entry so maybe the width of two fence panels is open to the air but it doesnt circulate really. I cant fit a gate as its a rental property. Thanks for the advice i'll try a clothes horse out there and see what happens but i doubt it'll work.

car ports almost always have wooden posts legs and roof frames

Screw some vine eyes into the tops of the posts and the ends of the roof timbers near their supports, run a washing line through them. It will be easier to screw if you drill pilot holes first. They should screw in horizontally, not vertically.

Don't hang from anywhere near the middles of the roof timbers as they are not strong.
