How do you wash food stained bibs and clothes!?

Just started weaning my DD and am going through bibs and clothes like crazy! I'm not sure what the best way to wash these is to ideally remove the stains completely. Hot wash? Bleach? Are there any good (& relatively cheap) products on the market?

Would love anyone's suggestions please. So far it's just been carrot purée but we're trying broccoli purée tomorrow Hmm

Er in fast wash at 60 or just normal wash with other laundry at 40. Bit of vanish. Job done :)

Napisan is really good for removing orange goo and poo Wink

Napisan. A soak in it if its really bad, otherwise just a bit in with the powder.

Dye everything orange, then you won't notice. Grin

Hanging in sunshine/daylight is really good for food/poo stains

Give it a good scrub with fairy washing up liquid first and then get it into the washing machine fast.

Could you but the long sleeve plastic bibs? Save all the hassle

amazonianwoman · 28/02/2014 11:30

You need these bibs

RoganJosh · 28/02/2014 12:30

Sunshine. Even through glass it works.

Neoprene sleeved bibs. Run under a tap, scrub with scrubbing brush and washing up liquid and they dry in 5 mins. Like these (I bought in a supermarket)

I used to keep a bucket of cold water in bath, dump food-stained clothes in that as soon as possible. Then just add to washing machine next time you are doing a load. According to friends who did home economics, hot water denatures the protein in food stains...and cold water doesn't. Not sure how this helps, but it has always worked for me. Also v v good at removing blood stains.
