Mould on clothes - getting rid of?

Don't think I'll be getting the housekeeper of the year award - wet swimming stuff in the dirty washing basket for..um..a while and little black dots on a tshirt which dont come off in the wash - any ideas? Have soaked with ace in-wash stuff but no good.

bleach? mildew remover? I have some somewhere - can't remember if it works or not. I know bleach works but obviously you ca only do that on whites.

Apparently the thing to do is leave them out in the sun. Mind you that would be a lost cause round here today, don't know what kind of weather you're getting in the UK! Ifound Milton fluid worked for me but you'd want to check it wouldn't bleach them.

There's a Stain Devil that does mould - I think it's the red wine one.

I'll try the staindevil. Does anyone boil thigs on the cooker anymore - I seem to remember my mum doing her teatowels in a pot on the cooker

Kittyb did anything work? we have this problem too

I boiled dishcloths a few weeks ago and forgot about them - the bits that didn't burn came out immaculately white!! I think I'll just use a boil wash in future.
Had the same problem with mildew after leaving some clothes in a washing machine when moving house - started using washing machine that was left behind by previous owners whilst wondering where these clothes had disappeared to! Threw muslins away but tried to clean a pair of shorts - used bleach, vanish and every other soapy thing I could find in the house - still a few spots left but mostly removed. hopefully I'll pick up a few tips here to get the last bits out...

yes the stain devil did help, but the stains faded rather than disappeared. Think it will eventually go. The hotter the water the better.

I had mould on a baby seat cover recently. I threw everything at it including bleach, cleaning cream (it was a so called wipe cleanable surface) washing up liquid, detergent, you name it, I used it.

In the end and in despair, I left it out in the sun to dry and I found that the sun seemed to bleach the marks out pretty well (you can still just about see some marks, but nothing obvious).
