Service laundry cost for two single duvets and a cushion (pad)

DH took this service wash to our laundry and it cost £23! I know we don't do many service washes but I was really shocked at how expensive it was - am I really that out of touch? Maybe next time I'll just buy a new duvet!

Disgusting is'nt it? Cheaper to buy new. MIL has a 7kg washing machine so I just take duvets over there when they need a wash

You were ripped off.

They always charge more for duvets though don't they

That's strange, only cost £5 I think, maybe £6?, at my laundry to do the equivalent. But I brought detergent, and I was the one who put them in the machine, and I dried them at home (during the heat wave).

I think perhaps I'll take them next time - if there is a next time - and check prices beforehand. TBH, when dh came back with the little ticket, I thought he'd paid for them to be dry cleaned and made him phone up to check! If you're right flack, a service wash costs twice as much as doing it yourself - does that sound right?

i think 7.50 is the going rate localy for duvets.
