I am loving thevgood housekeeping topic tonight! How many minor irritations in my life can it eliminate, I wonder?

So, how do you clean a shower curtain? Its not in a washing machine, I can tell you that.

It is in my house. Comes up lovely.

Ponyphysio · 19/02/2014 21:09

And in mine! 40 degrees with no fabric conditioner does the job great!

LaTrucha · 19/02/2014 21:09

Not in mine. I have only had a shower a few months and its a bit skanky - soap residue etc. Ugh. And I have alwsys been so judgmental too!

I usually find you either have to buy a good one that goes on the washer or a cheap one you can replace when it gets manky.

However, my current I've was only £3.99 from aldi and the label says it can go on at 40° haven't tried it yet though.

Primark do a lovely simple white curtain for a fiver, comes up great in machine, bleaching helps too. Transparent plastic ones are very tricky to keep, the pattern can wash off.

dizhin79 · 20/02/2014 00:19

what's it made from? my old plastic one I used to put in the bath with some washing powder and bleach and get scrubbing

Eminybob · 20/02/2014 06:41

I spray mine every day with that after shower leave on spray and it never gets manky any more.

LaTrucha · 20/02/2014 07:13

It's transparent plastic with a design on it in white. I thought scrubbing might be involved. I was hoping to just spray after the shower, but I think I can only do that once I've got the build up that s' there now off. Thanks.

Is that washing powder for clothes?

Life is too short to wash shower curtains and duvets.

Eminybob · 20/02/2014 07:22

Buy a new one.

Caoilainn · 20/02/2014 08:26

I chuck mine in the washing machine then hang it back up in the bathroom to dry. Makes the whole of upstairs smell lovely Grin

Try HG mould spray from lakeland.

blackteaplease · 20/02/2014 08:47

Won't the mould spray dissolve the pattern? I would try a scrubbing brush and vinegar mixed with bicarb.

dizhin79 · 21/02/2014 01:13

yes just normal washing powder Grin
