I use a stick blender to make mash, dead simple!

Yes a good quality heavy duty stick blender with a few attachments and a pot of some sort to grate and chop and blend things in.

I have Dualit from this catering supplier as it was on sale one but not sure how long it will last. It has hand mixer and whisk attachment too.

I have a big heavy duty food processor for doing cake batter, big chopping and blending jobs and making pastry. I don't and would not really have a use for a food mixer.

My kenwood chef came with a food processor attachment that I use to chop and slice veg. Maybe you can buy one on the website rather than getting another machine.

Mash - the easiest, least messy way of making mash I've found is to microwave whole, unpeeled potatoes till soft, cut them in half, push through a potato ricer. Lovely fluffy mash with no peeling or pans to wash.

Thanks !!l

I never thought of using the stick blender for mash .
but reckon a potato ricer might be even easier ....

LIKE the look of that dualit stick blender .

Potato ricer is anything but easy IMO. Slow, messy and tricky to clean. It does make lovely mash, but if it's for more than two of you it takes ages. Blenders make it too smooth, almost like a puree, I like mine light and fluffy. I think you can't beat a hand masher, the Oxo good grips one is really easy to use. here

I use the food processor on my Kenwood Prospero for most cutting, grating, slicing and chopping tasks, a stick blender for soups and sauces and a Kenwood minichooper for very small quantities.

I have a kenwood food processor that I use for most bits and for mash I use a hand mixer (one of the ones with 2 beaters) as I found the stick blender tends to turn it into a slop instead of fluffy!
