Has just served notice on me after leaving me passive aggressive notes about how she didn't have time to finish everything. I don't think my house is that bad, I wanted her just to do the kitchen, bathrooms and Hoover, but she wanted tidied each week too. How messy do you leave your house for your cleaner?

I tidy up before she comes, as she can't clean if everywhere is cluttered.
I don't like stuff about anyway, so it doesn't take much to ensure it is tidy.

I try and tidy as much as I can, I want her to clean not tidy!

Sorry, tidy before cleaner comes.
They come for a fixed time. I'd rather the place was cleaned than tidied.

Probably easier if you tidy first as at least then you'll know where you've put everything!

It doesn't matter either way and she is being precious. What is sure is that if she is working, say, three hours at a reasonable pace and she spends an hour tidying, she will do less cleaning . Because tidying takes time - as you know yourself, being loathe to commit to it!

Personally I used to prefer to tidy when I had a cleaner, so that more overall got done (ie including my input).
