Sweaty waterproof sheet

I bought a mattress protector for our new mattress. Its waterproof as I'm pregnant ( overdue) and plan to breastfeed so thought this would be a great idea.

Last night I woke and was convinced my waters had broken as I felt so damp- turns out it was sweat even though the plastic had a topper attached, plus I had another cotton sheet over it.

I put a fleece baby blanket over it and went back to sleep and was not as sweaty when I re-awoke ( pee break #72) but still more than I'd like.

Any tips for layering sheets so I can have the protective layer but not be too icky?

get a hippychick matress protector. You will get so much use from it that it's well worth the extra cost. By the time you have done this and any future pgs, kept it on until your dc are not dribbly and sicky, nor sneak in for a cuddle with their soggy nappies.... Grin

then used it on the dcs bed too until they are almost six past the stage of dropping milky drinks in their bed Wink good investment imho Grin

I have the hippychick sleeping bag liner ( cut open into a sheet- it was on sale for £3!) but also found it sweaty :(

Maybe the regular one is better?

oooohhh. dunno then. The other thing we did for sweatykid ds2 was a dunelm towelling waterproof backed sheet - can't remember the actual "title" of the thing - then he had a huge bath sheet towel on top, then a cotton sheet. seemed to work. he was a sweaty little thing but a nocturnal widdler til 7 or more. when the hippyhick was in the wash then the above arrangement appeared to do well enough. TBH I don't think there is a good answer.

The one I bought for DS's bed is good but I can't remember the brand. It is helps though it doesn't feel at all plasticky. It is like flocked fabric. I'll see of I can google!

I have a waterproof one from Next(own brand)and it's brilliant. Very un-plasticy. No crinkly noise and no waking up sweaty

I've got one from m&s that isn't sweaty at all
