Best Hoover for long human hair

Boring I know but having bought a new Bissell not that long ago I don't want to make another expensive mistake. Both DDs and I have long hair that seems to shed an awful lot and the Bissell is frankly crap and just seems to roll it up into hideous clumps but not actually suck it up. It also won't pick up things like jumper fluff unless I use the nozzle attachment.

Only had it 4 months but I has to go - what should I get instead? We had a dyson upright before which was ok but heavy and clunky. Heard good things about Henry but he looks a faff and requires bags?

I have the pink Henry!!!! I think it's brilliant!!! I use it every day and the bags seem to last ages.

As your only down the road you can borrow it for a trial Hoover if you want?

Henry. I love him dog with long hair and myself .
3 others in family bought him after using mine I wanted hetty but my husband just gave a look oh well next time

The bags are easy peasy on Henry. Easy to fit and remove and I buy them in packs of 10 for a couple of quid off eBay. A pack lasts about 18mo as I only need to empty him (!) every 6-8 weeks.

I have the same problem OP. I saw an advert on TV the other day for a vacuum claiming to suck up long hair and not get it tangled in the vacuum brushes (which happens to me). I think it was for a Dyson which I've never owned before. If I find out more I'll post again.

Another vote for a Henry...or Hetty.

Ooh ok maybe Henry is a winner then and is £99 on amazon so considerably cheaper than a dyson.

Hi, I'm ok thanks apart from an ear infection and so only half hearing ATM! I paid about that for mine form the shop by the dressing up place in town down from the church. PM me if that didn't give you the shop!

How's you?

Whatevertheweather · 12/01/2014 22:02

Abbey Electrics? Will try there first, good tip, would rather put money in their pocket than amazons! All good here, just wish it would stop raining!!

Yes to rain needing to stop now!

Think that's the shop name! They were really helpful and friendly and I was glad I'd used them and not a big firm iyswim? They even threw in some so are bags.

I would say SEBO x4 Pet, but then I always say that on vacuum cleaner threads. Its one of the best things I've even bought.

HelenaDove · 02/10/2017 01:18

Sorry to revive an old thread but i have the same problem I have long thick hair and our hoover cant cope with it. My hair actually knackered a Dyson years ago.

Bloody PITA.

Debby08 · 04/10/2017 10:02

I'd go with Henry and it's cheaper too. But there are several to choose from on Amazon but this thing just got good reviews.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 04/10/2017 13:26

Don’t get the rechargeable dyson (v6 or something) it picks up my hair but then just clogs up with it all in the base and stops the suction grrrrrr
