Another £40 on cartridges today to do my accounts, put printer away for 6 months until I gotta print some other things. Hardly gets used n really pisses me off that I gotta fork this out all the time. Just had a look on Argos n you can buy a printer for 25 with cartridges included Angry

it appears that all ink jets do that. I have been using laser printers for some years, they take a cartridge of toner powder that lasts for years. One was in a house I did not use often, and it sometimes went for months without printing, but worked fine anyway. I got an HP Laser printer from Tesco recently for about £70, it was on offer and cheaper than from my usual computer dealer.

Laser printers are (almost) invariably black print only. They are quicker than inkjet, and give a sharp, smudge-free print.

Thanks john, might have a look for any sale deals or eBay.

it was this one. It can connect wirelessly but I used the cable. There is a none-wireless version which may be slightly cheaper. You may also be able to use Tesco vouchers.

The other ones I use are OKI which I have also been very pleased with.

printer&c=715,&m=0&o=1 there are lots of others The ones I have used have been more durable and serious than inkjets.

I don't know if this one is any good

yy Johnno is right, you need a laser.

I got one a few months ago for the occasional letter or parcel label, and I find I use it a lot more than I thought I would, mainly because it is so much better than the inkjet I used to have which was utterly shite with infrequent use.

Mine was about £50 I think from Staples. Toner about another 40 but that was Ok as I'm still using what was in it (ex display) and will probably die before I use it all up.

Avoid HP. Absolutely awful.
