Induction hob adaptor plate

Hi,

I've just moved to a place that has an induction hob and most of my pots are not compatible with the induction hob. I was wondering if the induction adaptor plate is any good and if you can recommend any?

Thanks! Smile

I bought one through Amazon, but have only used it occasionally as my every day pans were compatible. I bought the Frabosk one as that seemed to be all that was available last year, though there seem to be lots more now. Anyway, it works, though probably not as efficiently as compatible pans!

Thanks!! How slow would you say it is? Does wacking up the heat help?

I think they work best if they are close to the diameter of the pans - so not a brilliant idea to buy one large plate, better to measure the diameter of your existing pans and buy plates that are slightly smaller. (NB very unscientific answer!)
I haven't found my induction hobs slow - it is pretty much comparable to my old gas hob and many times better than other electric hobs (e.g. ceramic, solid or rings). If I put the heat on max, the contents of the pan come up to the boil in seconds.

Lily maid, thanks! What I meant to ask was is the problem with the plate that it doesn't heat up the non induction pot properly? If so, does increasing the heat not solve this problem? Sorry to be pedantic, I just want to make sure it is worth while buying! Smile
