Vomit and sofa cushions - any helpful hints?

DD and friends went to 21st party last night, free booze, inevitable result - vomit on sofa cushions. Covers are washable and inner cushion covers seems to be very thick so hope no vom through to the stuffing, but do you have any helpful hints on cleaning the inner cushion covers as effectively as possible? I really don't want to have to make the culprit pay for replacement cushions - he would and is suitably mortified but I just don't want the hassle or the waste.

Bicarb of soda ...shed loads rub in with a bit of water to make a paste then leave to dry and hoover up. Repeat if its ingrained.

Sponge wash with bio laundry liquid solution. May take a few goes, but it worked for me when my 2 yr old had a sickness bug recently.

I bought an enzyme spray after advice on here. It's for pets but worked incredibly well on my poor vomity sofabed.
