Lint covering everything (nearly)

Hi folks. This is my first post on Mumsnet... I felt this would be a great place to join in...

I have taken on my first home (Miller Homes new build apartment) and I am experiencing an issue with my Electrolux Washer Dryer where lately I am noticing all sorts of bits (lint, fibre etc) in the drum mostly every time it fills up and it literally coats my clothing, towels, bedding, cushion covers etc with a thick layer of the stuff left over from the last wash. I have followed the Maintenance Wash and "Hand Cleaning" tips from Electrolux where I have used paper towels as suggested by Electrolux to clean the entire seal (all round), the drum and door etc as best as is possible and then run a wash and rinse cycle. When the machine fills with the rinse cycle i notice more gunk coming through from the gaps at the end of the seals and drum (outer tub area) and through the holes and gaps in the drum so I have to clean and do it again and again. Whenever I use the drain hose or check the filter both show no signs of dirt, debris or any lint at all which I dont understand - Surely it would go there and not remain in the top area of the machine (Drum).

Also my dishwasher was left (at handover date) with a dent to the door and Miller Homes are now refusing to budge or rectify this and claim I had 5 Days to notify them of any issues with appliances in the home. (I notified them of this dent in door of DW and they did nothing and I had not moved into the apartment until 7-10 days after handover, so how could I notice this issue with draining and clearing of remnants etc.

I am really getting tired of this and wonder if anyone has had this issue and can advice me what to do.

I hope this made some sense and is understandable. Any help is welcome!
Thanks

Bumping for you, pigletjohn may be able to help, try pm-ing, I heard he's (presume a he!) quite good at house problems

Is there a filter to clean after you have done a tumble dry?

PigletJohn · 29/12/2013 17:24

dunno.

is it possible someone left a tissue in a pocket?

presume you have been through the instructions carefully.

I have heard that condensing driers sometimes suffer from fluff clog even if you follow the instructions.

Try the maker's "contact us" link - they probably have one on their webpage. You could also try a warranty claim with the makers.

Hi Guys I have checked all filters (only seems to be one at the front (bottom) of the machine) and it is always clean. I've tried washing the machine and all as mentioned above and its not a tissue in a pocket, but rather more like fabric remnants and loose hair (yuck!!) that I pick out or see in the water when cleaning it out etc.

I've tried contacting Electrolux and all they can suggest is get their 'Approved Engineer for my area' to do an inspection on it, and if not that then refer me back to Miller Homes who state its between me and Electrolux. Argh!!
