Good Hoover for hard floors

Can anyone recommend a good Hoover for wood / tiled hard floors? Our Dyson is great on carpet but not amazing on hard surfaces and sometimes scratches. DH has a dust allergy so effective de-dusting is essential for us.

Thanks in advance :)

Recently got a gtech airram, which seems very good on laminate. If you get it from lakeland then you can always return it if you are not happy?

For hard floors, a cylinder.

Miele if you can afford it, or Bosch. It need not be their most expensive model.

Thanks everyone! I've found a Bosch bagless one that looks just the ticket Smile

Some people say that the ones with bags are better for dust control.

do you mean ones with bags pick up more dust? henry hoovers are all bagged I always wondered why they don't do a bagless one, maybe that's why. maybe bagless hoovers are more convenient but bagged ones actually pick up better, do you think?

Not so much picking up more, but keeping it inside and not blowing it out.

Miele are widely considered to make the best range of domestic vacs, and I heard a developer say they had tried bagless, but were unable to match the performance.

In my builders vac I use a huge bag in dusty conditions because it prevents the filter clogging.
