Fantastic, lightweight, cordless vacuum cleaner?

Can anyone recommend me one? Ours is heavy and does as well as my pushing the grit about with a stick these days. I want something I can get out easily, whizz round a room and pop it back in the cupboard, while wearing a lovely full skirted 50s style dress and playing uplifting music. We have mostly wooden floors so I also sweep, but it does need to be the only vacuum cleaner, so has to be capable! Thank you.

G Tech air ram, my mum loves hers and she is very fussy.

Be very careful with the Gtech Air Ram. We sent ours back. It was utterly useless on rugs and carpets. It would not suck the dust into its chamber. It spewed it out on the floor every so often having spun it around on its brushes. I thought it would be handy to have on our ground floor (mostly wood and stone) but I was bitterly disappointed. I honestly think a cylinder Miele is the way to go. They are not cordless but after the GTech experience, I just want one that works! The Miele has good suction, is well built with a variety of heads (unlike the GTech). They are the same price so an absolute no brainer!

DS has a Dyson stick rechargeable; I saw it in action and now hanker after one, though they are quite expensive, around £250 and we already have two vacuums. His has a sort of triangular foot which gets easily into nooks and crannies, but I can only find versions with a conventional straight bar foot, much less versatile.

I have a Dyson animal rechargeable ,it is very good and you could do a whole house on one charge . I only use mine upstairs though and use a different vacuum downstairs . It was expensive as well .

floral, but what shape is your foot? Smile

Thank you. Hadn't heard of the air ram, but I think I need something with extra bits for our nooks and crannies. DH is keen on a Dyson too so will have a look. Triangular foot sounds very useful!

The triangular foot is Rowenta, I'm thinking about getting one too, but would like more feedback!

I have a G Tech AirRAMand I think its brilliant. GTech it seems have/had a fault in the gear shaft on some of their models ( mine was one). I rang them. They sent a carrier the same afternoon to collect it and sent me a new Gtech AirRAM as a replacement the next day.

They have a five year guarentee and I am not going to fault their honouring of that or their customer service - and the vacuum itslef is the best I have ever had. Its light ,manouverable and collects the dust and cat hair better than my animal dyson ( which is now consigned to the cupboard for being too heavy). The battery lasts forty minutes and charges in around an hour. I can domy large bungalow through twice

(and a bit) on one charge.

Its main down side is it is only a vaccuum. It does not have gadgets / tools for other tasks.
