kitchen sink soon to be replaced. live in hard water area and current stainless steel sink is an endless battle with limescale. would a ceramic be better and less grubby? or any magic tricks for limescale? tia

Snap! When we built our new kitchen a couple of years ago, top of my list was a ceramic sink and I haven't regretted it once!! DH wouldn't have a butler's sink as they're too low to be comfortable for him to wash up (we had one in our first house) so I have a 1 1/2 bowl villeroy & boch ceramic sink which is a joy. Limescale doesn't show and I clean it with the same cleaner I use for the bathroom sink, but pretty much anything goes, and the dreaded watermarks don't show!!!! (at least not for ages!!)

The only thing to watch out for is how prone the actual sink is...some are much 'taller' than others (which is why I chose the V&B). Though you can get undermount ceramic sinks too, depending on the style you're after. But in a contest with stainless steel in a hard water area, ceramic wins hands down!
