Christmas bonus for cleaner

What is the going rate? I've put in 2 weeks pays (6hours). Is this about right. She's very good.

How much an hour?

I always buy a gift for each of our cleaner's children. Nothing excessive, this year each gift is about £15.

Watching with interest....This is my first year of having a cleaner. I was planning on just giving her double her rate (£9 per hour, 3 hours and she comes once every other week) and maybe baking something?

My cleaner is £10 an hour, 3 hours a week.

I think £20 in a xmas card is plenty.

I'm giving an extra week's pay, which is an extra £15.

Last year I gave my cleaner £20 and really good bottle of champagne.

I pay her £11 an hour.

Thanks everyone. We pay £9 a hour direct. Feel like maybe I should be giving a personal gift now rather than just money but expect she'll be happy with the cash. Sounds like amounts vary but I'm not being mean.

We do an extra week's pay (£55) and a bottle of prosecco or something.
Also give her quite a lot of bits and pieces for her teenage DD through the year e.g. swanky hotel toiletries/ Elemis BA washbags as she loves those!

Quite a lot but she is lovely and genuinely much more than 'just a cleaner' to us.

I reckon amounts vary depending on size of house/hours done. I'm guessing £55 a week is for a pretty big house (and an accordingly bigger present) while I pay £15 a fortnight for a couple of hours-but my house is teeny! I wouldn't worry too much either way. I'm sure she will be delighted with any present

I usually give cash because that will be what I most happy to receive. Won't say no to fizz either.

I wouldn't like chocolate or biscuits. I don't like them. And I know I'm not the only one in the office who doesn't eat the cakes brought in.

Our cleaner earns £60 a week (£10 hour x 6 hours a week) and has been with us for 5 1/2 years. At Christmas, I will give her £60 and a small box of chocolates. In previous years, I have also given a big bag of foodie things, which would be worth about £20 as well, but this year its £60 and a small box of chocs. This thread ahs prompted me to have a root through my toiletries and bring togetehr the freebies I've had from perfume counters and I will give her those too.

Desperately Just give what you want to give and what you can afford. That's what I do, and I am fortunate enough to be able to afford what I give our cleaner. As I said, she has also been with us 5 1/2 years, is flexible in that she will do an extra hour (paid) on the weeks that I need it, accepts deliveries etc. I value that, I know that she needs the money and I can afford to give it. If all I could afford was a tin of buscuits, then that's what i would give, with my heartfelt thansk for doing such a good job.

I pay £30per fortnight, I'm putting £20 in a card plus a basket of fruit. Milk man and window cleaner get £10.00 each in a card.

I pay mine an extra weeks worth of money (the same as Happy - i pay her £60 a week, so will be giving her £60 in a christmas card). I know she would rather have cash than a present.

I pay 50 a week... On Friday she is doing an extra bit for me as I want the house to sparkle before the hoardes (sp?) arrive.... Which is another 50... I then thought of 50 as a bonus? She has been super for us recently.

I give mine an extra week's pay, in iur case £40.

I work as a cleaner and last year, one of my families I work for gave me £150.00! They said they valued my help so much. It was so lovely and I bought myself a ring with the money and wear it always as it meant the world to me.

Normally I get between £10 and £50 from varying clients. it is such a great help and I am very grateful they make the gesture.
