Not sure if this is the right place to post this but lovely DS pulled the hands off a clock we were given for our wedding two years ago by my mums best friend. She hasn't seen our new house yet and our DS2 is due 17th dec so she will be popping over sometime Xmas so I really want to get this fixed and up on the wall as it was quite expensive. Question is how can we fix it without paying someone to? Its just the hands that have come off? Any ideas would be amazing... Thanks Xmas Smile

try to push them back on. Unless broken, each hand will have a tube at the end, which fits over a spike or tube in the centre of the face. Line them both up at 12:00 before pushing them on.

If the tube has broken off you will need new hands and probably tweezers to get the old ones out.

There are lots of horological suppliers, measure the hands and look on fleabay if you need new hands. There might also be a horological club in your town and a member might do it for you. It is a popular hobby with retired engineers. the clock mechanisms are made in standard sizes and a new modern movement is stunningly inexpensive compared to the retail price of a clock.

p.s.

push the hour hand on before the minute hand.

pps

some hands may just have a round hole, not a tube
