I have damp/condensation in my fitted wardrobes. It was fine during the summer so im assuming its something to do with the weather. I am short of space as it is and at the minute I cannot use one half of the wardrobe due to mould growing on everything I put in there..... what can I do??? I thought it was a bonus having these wardrobes now I wish I just jad standard wardrobes.

I expect that these are wardrobes fitted to a cold external wall and it is condensation. Very rarely tghe wall might be damp from overflowing gutters, leaking downpipes, or roof or plumbing leaks.

Reducing humidity in the room will help a lot - opening windows each morning, and taking care not to drape wet washing around the house. Water vapour is lighter than air so it will rise up through the house until it either escapes, or finds a cold surface to condense on. Some of the moisture will come from your nocturnal breathing, and some will drift in e.g. from the bathroom, esp. if it has no effective extractor. The main cause of condensation, damp and mould in British houses is wet washing draped around and hung over radiators.

If it is an old house with solid walls it will be very difficult and may need a ventilation hole drilled to the outside.

If it is a modern house with cavity wall insulation it will be easier to keep the wall warm enough, you might consider the lowest-power oil-filled radiator you can find, at its lowest setting. Do not use a fan heater or convector as they are much more dangerous and liable to start fires.

I really do feel your pain as we have the same issue. We have had the mould back 2, 3 times ugh i hate it! Buy a LARGE unibond humidity absorber they are amazing and collect ridiculous amounts of water!!! They are about £15- 20 but actually collect water that you can empty down the look every week or so. I replace the tabs in them every 3-4 weeks. Just had a look and Asda have one for £8 direct.asda.com/Unibond-Humidity-Absorber/001242287,default,pd.html

I normally buy the replacement tabs from wilko as they are always cheapest.
