Discovered vomit on sofabed

Oh, GOD. Had a party, and evidently a friend who stayed over on my sofabed was ill in the night. I think perhaps she tried to clean up after herself, but was too blotto to do it properly. Why she didn't TELL me about it I don't know, but now I've got to live with the aftermath (and never invite her to my house again Hmm).

I've been at it with upholstery cleaner and Febreze, but it still smells :( It's in a small room too, so now the whole room pongs of sick. I've Googled but I keep finding people saying the key is to get it before it dries. But I didn't know about it until the next morning!

Does anyone have any magic sick-be-gone methods?

You need to get this

www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/Products/CN0266/simple-solution-stain-andamp-odour-remover-for-cats?utm_source=google&utm_source=cpc&utm_campaign=ps_productTargets&gclid=CNWypbiOgLsCFYzItAodNwsAKA

You can get at the pet shop or some supermarkets have it. It is an enzyme cleaner which breaks down biological smells. It really works and it smells ok.

There are other brands as well. We had a vomity cat but it works well on human boak as well. I just spray it on liberally and leave it. Then wash thecarpet a few days later.

Thank you for the tip! I've just ordered some. I've got cats too so it'll get used. Fingers crossed!

Get bicarb of soda make into a paste with water rub like mad into the sicked on bit and leave to dry. Then hoover up.....

Have you got any biological washing powder/liquid/gel?

I dilute some in warm water and spray it on to the offending area, not too much, just enough to dampen it and then rub it with a clean cloth.
Once it's dried the smell will be gone.

It's something to do with the enzymes in the biological washing powder (liquid etc) breaking down the bacteria that cause the smell or something, whatever it is, it works!

A friend once passed out fell asleep on my sofa after a few too many. I woke to a text at 5am saying she'd gone home.

Shortly after this I went downstairs to get a glass of water. I have never seen such carnage in my life!!
My kitchen was COVERED in vomit Confused
It was literally everywhere. It took me several hours to clean up properly and disinfect everything.

Throughout the day I found more on the lounge floor and the sofa, that she'd obviously attempted to clean up.

I didn't hear from her all day, so called her in the evening asking if she needed to apologise for anything.
I don't really hear from her at all these days Wink

Rosa I have tried good old bicarb but it's fallen short. Perhaps I can give it another bash though.

Moosey I don't use bio for washing as DH is allergic, but I keep a secret stash of tablets for cleaning. I'll try that while I'm waiting for my enzyme spray to arrive, thank you!

OMG phantom in your kitchen? How completely nightmarish. I did hear my friend clanging about in the kitchen and have told myself she was just getting a drink...but I've bleached everything in there too just in case!

Not to dripfeed but I heard her being sick in the bathroom (she had mostly cleaned this up, but as soon as she was gone I rushed in there with the bleach!) and I found some in the bin as well! Horrendous, but at least that was easy to clean!
