Tumble dryer help

I've just got a new tumble dryer and used it for the first time yesterday. I've never used a tumble dryer before so sorry if this is a stupid questions, but the onlyinstructions that came with it say to refer to the dial on the tumble dryer!

I have it on low heat (only other option is high heat) and for polyester/cotton mix it say to put on for 40-60 mins. So I set the dial to 50 mins. The cycle finished and everything was still wet so I did 50 mins again and its still wet.

The last 18 mins of the cycle is cool. So what am I doing wrong? Does it need to go on for longer? The stuff I put in wasnt dripping wet (and was slightly dryer each time) and the dryer was only half full. I really don't want to be wasting all this electricity.

You need high heat. What other dials have you got? Mine has auto options as well as a timer. Ready to iron.. ready to wear.. extra dry.. delicates (low heat) and freshen up. And options for synthetics which I tend not to use a drier for.

There's a start button, high/low heat button and a timer dial. That's it. I just wanted a dryer for bedding and towels so I didn't get a fancy one. So I should put it on high heat even for things that only have one dot on the tumble dryer symbol on the tags? Hope that makes sense. Smile

I tend to put the 1 dot on synthetics even if it takes a long time so things don't shrink. my new td is complicated & instructions not that helpful.

If you want it for bedding and towels you need a high heat.

Okay I'll try it again on high heat. Thanks for your help!
