My house is worse than a pig sty...

I've never been that great a homemaker but since DS (14 mos) started walking and I went back to work my office job 2 days a week and started doing PartyLite a few nights a week I just cannot keep on top of it all. My house is a state and it's really getting me down. I'm barely keeping on top of the day to day stuff like washing up let alone the ironing, cleaning cupboards etc

SO.... I was thinking about using some of my PartyLite money to pay for someone to give me a hand sorting it out. Perhaps a one off deep clean and then I'll try to keep on top of it. Or maybe a regular few hours a week.

What I was wanting to know is how much should I expect to pay for that sort of thing? I've never done this before. I live in Norfolk if that makes a difference. Please share your experiences....

Hi, mum of 1 and full time working. I got desperate and got a cleaner 3 hours a week for floors, hoover, ironing, bathrooms, kitchen, dusting etc. She puts it all back into order on a Thurs and then I can trash invite people over to a nice clean house and have more time to play with my son on the weekend. All I do is load the washing machine and dryer and she does the rest. It helps I have a dishwasher but besides her help, I would need a visit from those ladies from TV with the mops and brushes and the YUK factor because I just don't have time. Give yourself a break, get her in on your day at work and come back to a nice clean house. Don't feel guilty. I pay £7.50ph but thats London It must be cheaper out where you are. For me, the £22.50 a week is worth it for the free weekend to relax and play with my child.
