Finding a hole in an airbed?

We have a double airbed. It has a leak somewhere. It wasn't a cheap airbed so I'm loath to chuck it and get a new one.

How do I find the hole and patch it? (If it was a bike tyre I'd stuff it in water, but I only have a small corner bath so don't know if that's really an option?)

Can you hear the air escaping? Can't think of any other way than an inch by inch check sorry. Probably wouldn't put it in the bath as it'd damage the cover.

Alternatively can you return it to the shop you bought it from?

Check inch by inch but a bit quicker by using a wet cloth, you should see the water bubble (same idea as looking for a hole in a bike inner tube when you immerse it in water).

You should be able to hear the air escaping as well if you are lucky.

It's out of warranty as we've had it two years - we got it just before DS' second Christmas as we needed the space - so taking it back to the shop is out.

Can't hear the air escaping - just waking up in the morning to be nearly on the floor Confused

Will try the wet cloth idea this weekend.

Thanks!
