...what would you buy?

My lovely Nan has given me this amount to treat myself for Christmas. I really want something for the home...err..but I don't know what! Maybe one of those Lakeland heated aiders? Definitely practical but not pretty Wink

Does anyone have any inspiration?

A nice picture for the wall.

Hmm.

I would use it on some really good bed linen. Or put it towards new mattress topper/duvet/bed. But that's because I really want to change my bed at the moment!

If I didn't already have one (does that count?!) then it would be a Nespresso machine; technically it cost me £109 at the time. However it's currently on sale in John Lewis at £80 Grin

I also want a new vacuum cleaner, or a Black and Decker handheld.

spiderbabymum · 12/11/2013 19:22

I'm into kitchen gadgets and time saving devices ...

If you don't have a slow cooker you might want to try one of those ...although just go for a basic murphy Richards one

BettyBum · 12/11/2013 19:22

Good suggestions.

A steam cleaner?

A cordless vacuum cleaner?

Bedding is good, so bloody expensive!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/11/2013 19:24

I'd buy a new lamp for the living room, or a new rug for the back room...or a food processor.

BoohPear · 12/11/2013 19:25

I was going to say heated airer! it's what I'm considering spending my Christmas money on!

spiderbabymum · 12/11/2013 19:27

It all depends what kinda stuff would be a treat for you ! What do you enjoy ???.

spiderbabymum · 12/11/2013 19:29

I think you need some thing that you wouldn't Normally buy .......a gift that keeps on giving ....

How about a luxurious towelling bath robe , slippers and a selection of bath bombs ...

Or a magazine subscription ....

Or new make up ....????

spiderbabymum · 12/11/2013 19:29

Can you tell I'm enjoying this

derektheladyhamster · 12/11/2013 19:31

I'd choose art too Grin

StephenKatz · 13/11/2013 08:03

Thanks for all the great tips! I like the idea of a picture, or a mattress topper - our mattress, despite being less than a year old, is shocking!

Kitchen gadgets are probably a good idea, although would have to consult DH as he does 100% most of the cooking Blush

I would get a new duvet.

superlambanana · 13/11/2013 09:13

I would buy a steam cleaner. Desperate for something to get rid of the embedded dirt from the previous owners, because elbow grease isn't shifting it!

VerySmallSqueak · 13/11/2013 09:18

Some materials to build in some better storage in the kids bedroom.

So wood and screws really.

If I could get an item,as such,I have a beautiful photo I would like blown up onto a canvas. In fact, that'd be better as I think it's better to spend gifted money on something you would dearly love but would never justify/afford otherwise.

greyvix · 14/11/2013 19:54

I would get a lovely lamp.
