Does a hot wash remove stains?

Just that really.

I'm trying to get better results from my washing but am confused about what to do for the best results. Some posts I've read say use a cooler wash with bio powder so you don't denature the enzymes and others advocate a hot wash to remove stains.

So which is it, or is it more complicated than that?

I've no idea but normal clothes I wash on 30/40 with bio to get rid of stains and towels/bedding goes on 90 with non bio to get rid of bacteria.

I always wash on 40 degrees. I pretreat stains first & add Napisan vanish laundry booster & use a biological liquid . I think if you do mostly a mixed wash then 40 degrees is hot enough. I wash delicates on 30 degrees with a non bio liquid.

ok so I'll be flamed but the washing machine engineer in the job 25 years man and boy 'ardest game in the world recently said "bio products need a really long, several hours, hot cycle which modern machines do not provide anymore" so non-bio and stain remover is fine and I give the machine a maintenance wash occasionally

I sometimes treat stains with washing up liquid and a little bit of water before washing at 40 degrees with bio powder. Bio doesnt need a very hot cycle as that would denature the enzymes and then they wont work.

I thought you don't use bio on hot washes as it basically 'kills' the bio part?!
Confused.

It depends on the stain. Sometimes a few days in the sun and rain on the line outside works wonders Grin

as a textile designer, in my experience, no!!!!!

hot water is fine for general washing, i tend to wash at 40, but for bad stains, no. hot water fixes, which is why fabrics are dyed using hot water. if you have a specific stain on an item, wash it with lots of cold water to flush it out, use detergent but never hot water.
