btw it is a rental property and we've got approval to relace carpet but don't want to spend too much money on it.

didn't know about vinyl flooring being toxic. Got it in my kitchen - perhaps i'm being a bit stupid but what makes it toxic?

Katymac · 03/07/2006 16:03

I haven't been able to find it....I found some backed with laminate flooring - but that kinda defeated the object

Marmoleum is also eco-friendly flooring.

Please try Emmylou's First Ever Link Attempt which is this

lino is very expensive actually so might not be your best choice. And it's a bugger to lay - you need a professional really, we did some ourselves and it looks pants at the edges. It is also not really suitable for bathrooms, water stains it.

We got ours from an online supplier - they did lino, marmoleum etc. But really wouldn't recommend it.

Google Forbo and marmoleum to get the company website and a list of stockists (John Lewis sell it ruty and offer the usual reliable fitting service)
We have just opted for yummy Nymph Green for our bathroom.

well done emmylou it worked!
Thanks Marina - just did that by co incidence actually and turned out there is a little shop close by that can order it in. was surprised because none of the big stores do it [except John Lewis like you said.] I like the samples so we will probably order some tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice.

btw twototango greenpeace lists all the toxins in common household stuff and greener alternatives. Crap at doing links I'm afraid.
