Vented tumble dryer in an internal bathroom or garage?

Would it be possible (or even advisable) to have a vented tumble dryer in an internal bathroom? There are no windows in the room but there is electrical access .................... The garage has the basic up-and-over door but no other windows or doors.

What do you think? Is PigletJohn around to offer his words of wisdom?

I had a tumble dryer in my garage, just an up and over door. It was put there by my mother when the children were little and she looked after them when I was at work. Worked fine and no problems.

Bathroom bad idea for high voltage electrical items. Even hair dryers are ideally kept out of a bathroom unless they're specially installed like shaver units and lights.

Garage could be a pain in the winter though. Have you bought the dryer or could you get a condensed one for somewhere else in the house?

We've been advised that the condenser dryers are not as reliable or cost-effective as the vented ones...............?

We have a condenser drier. The first one was shit (hoover I thonk) We now have a Bosch condenser (plumbed in) and it is fine. Just need to make sure you properly clean it out lint wise when the clothes start coming out damp.

I have mine in my box room and just vent the hose out of the window when in use. Could that work for you?

We don't have a spare room but thanks for the suggestion Smile

If you have a vented tumble dryer you need an exit to outside for the hose otherwise wet air and fluff will float around the room. I can't see how you could use one in a bathroom with no window

Thanks, AO. Garage it is then! Smile
