Not much use in the summer but during the winter I mix fabric conditioner in water and then wipe down the radiators. Makes every room smell lovely

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 30/06/2006 11:28

open the windows and doors as much as possible. clean the bin as much as possible. I have an emergency Crabtree and Evelyn "cook's spray" for if the bin is bad. it's lasted over a year.

bake some biscuits

JessaJam · 30/06/2006 12:04

emergency incense sticks for when the cats have done something aawwful in the litter tray...

Nothing I ever do to the kitchen can over power the slightly damp and doggy smell, apart from when I burn a saucepan!

Empty bin, Open windows.

What is wrong with wet dog smell?

If I wasn't a paranoid mother I would also burn lovely log fires in winter.

Clean the bin properly with bleach and hot water or antibacterial spray once a week, every week.

MrsBadger · 30/06/2006 13:16

Open windows, and have v small kitchen bin that only fits one carrier bag.

then when it's full (at least once a day) you have to go and put it in the dustbin in the garden. Means there's only ever one day's worth of rubbish in the kitchen so it never gets too smelly.

Raggydoll · 30/06/2006 13:33

i know mrsn... just after they've 'fertilised' all the fields. its smells of sh*t for months.

Graciefer · 01/07/2006 01:56

i mix water and fabric softner in a spray bottle and spray on all the carpets after hoovering
