Do steam cleaners come with suction?

I think I'd like a steam cleaner. Not a mop for floors because I've heard stories about damage to flooring and I'd be worried asbout using one for thaqt. I'd like one mainly for cleaning the bathroom and occasional use on the sofa/carpets/curtains.

I'm confused about whether they suck up the dirt or just blast it with steam leaving a wet puddle to mop upConfused

It makes sense to me to have something with suction too. Looking for something £100 or under-ish. Does this even exist?

Any suggestions/advice welcome.

The only thing I can think of is a Vax, they might do the suction. Generally, it is just steam, but they have different settings so you control the amount of steam. The floors dry quite quickly because the water is hot, and it doesn't deposit as much water as a mop. Steamers tend to have special attachments for sofas and curtains which also limit the steam.

You could always find a big shop and ask for a demo?

Many thanks!Smile Good point about asking for info in a shop. John Lewis always quite helpful now I think about it.

They blast the steam like a kettle boiling but with direction and then you wipe.
